Alcohol deaths among women on the rise

The Guardian reports on a 'worrying rise' in alcohol-related deaths among women in their 30s and 40s.

In his speech to the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies in 2009 David Nutt argued that alcohol was one of the most harmful of drugs. Earlier this week the government announced it was shelving plans to introduce minimum pricing for alcohol, prompting a series of resignations from a key advisory body.
