How we fund our work

As an independent public education charity that seeks to inform the public and politicians on crime and criminal justice, we understand the importance of transparency and trust when it comes to our funding.

We have no formal connection, or informal alliance, with any political party and are strongly committed to fostering knowledge and understanding of crime and criminal justice on a strictly non-party political basis.

We currently derive around 80 per cent of our annual income from our educational activities and from the operation of our building as a hub for activities by us and our partner organisations.

We derive the remaining 20 per cent of our annual income from the generous support of our members and donors, from charitable trusts and foundations, and from research contracts.

Our annual accounts, downloadable from the Charity Commission website, contain a detailed breakdown on where our funding comes from and how we spend it.
