New head of financial crime unit quits

The Financial Times (subscription required) reports that Jeremy Outen, the person appointed in April to coordinate the fight against financial crime, has stepped down. The piece hints at the likelihood of Mr Outen's tax affairs having a part to play, although it is emphasised that 'there is no suggestion of any unlawfulness'.
