Four prisons to close in Sweden

Sweden is set to close four prisons and a remand centre following a sharp drop in prison admissions, reports The Guardian. While no official explanation has been given by Sweden's Head of Prisons and Probation Service, Nils Oberg, about why there has been such a dramatic decrease, it is 'hoped' that it is due to the emphasis placed on prevention and rehabilitation.
