BBC World Service discusses our report

Wednesday, 26 November 2014

This month we launched a new report calling for better prison standards, as part of our contribution to the European Prison Observatory. The Observatory investigates and compares prison conditions, shares better practice and promotes respect for human rights in prisons management across the European Union.

The report made ten recommendations for better practice, including voting rights for prisoners, better provision for family visits, and an end to solitary confinement.

We spoke to the BBC World Service about it and they got a discussion going on their Facebook page.

We discussed the recommendations of this report at an event about human rights in prison on Tuesday 25 November.
