Human rights in prison

Tuesday, 25 November 2014

Our event this afternoon on human rights in prison across the UK and the rest of Europe drew an enthusiastic and engaged audience of researchers, policy makers, activists and practitioners.

Marie Crétenot, of the Observatoire international des prisons in Paris spoke about her recent report - From national practices to European guidelines: interesting initiatives in prisons management. A summary and full copy of Marie's report is available on this site here.

Marie's report draws on eight individual country reports on prison conditions in France, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom. These are also available to download from our website.

Our final European Prison Observatory event is on 16 December. For further details and to register, check out the event page.
