A women's building for Holloway?

Holloway Prison Stories and Reclaim Holloway have released a short film making the case for a women’s building to be part of any future development of the former Holloway prison site in North London.
The film features interviews with women affected by the criminal justice system and women who provided support to those in Holloway.
In a survey of more than 930 individuals and organisations, our Community Plan for Holloway project found that there is strong support for:
- The land to remain in public ownership
- Genuinely affordable housing
- Community space
- Green space
- Provision of services for women, children and young people
Islington Council’s draft planning brief makes provision for a women’s building at the site, but there are concerns that this could be sidelined or even excluded by developers.
