Survey shows extent of sexual violence

'Nearly a quarter of men in the Asia-Pacific region have admitted to committing rape at least once in their life, according to a suvey released today, with more than half of those respondents claiming they raped for the first time while in their teens', reports The GuardianThe UN led study collected data from more than 10,000 men and 3,000 women between 2010 and 2013. 

In The Independent, Joan Smith co-chair of the Mayor of London's Violence Against Women and Girls Panel, reflects on the gang rape case in Delhi and the UN figures, arguing that 'for too many men, sexual violence is the norm'.
