Probation inspectorate annual report

The probation inspectorate has published its annual report. Over the year the inspectorate published 58 reports, including six thematic reports covering electronic monitoring; restorative justice; young adults; looked after children; children who sexually offend and disability hate crime. With an annual budget of £3.7 million this works out at £64,000 per report.

In the year ahead the inspectorate will be publishing reports on life sentence prisoners, victim contact arrangements and the first part of their inspection on people with learning difficulties and disabilities in the criminal justice system.
