Electronic monitoring. It's complicated.

In June 2012 the probation inspectorate undertook a review of electronic monitoring. The review found evidence of inaccuracies in the information conveyed by the courts to both the probation service and the electronic monitoring companies. Given the current investigation into failures in the tagging system, the following report recommendations also make for interesting reading:
