Next month, we're publishing new research suggesting that the criminal justice system remains stubbornly resistant to meaningful reform.

In 2016, the Supreme Court ruled that the courts had wrongly applied joint enterprise rules for over three decades. The implication – that thousands of people might have been wrongly convicted and imprisoned – were stark.

Six years on, our research, conducted in partnership with Joint Enterprise Not Guilty by Association (JENGbA), found no evidence that the Supreme Court ruling had any impact on the numbers being prosecuted.
