Daisy Lutyens is a former Policy and Research Officer at the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies.
Daisy Lutyens joined the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies in July 2024 as a Policy and Research Officer.
Prior to that, Daisy worked at a national drug and alcohol service, where she supported people recently released from prison with their transition from custody into the community. This fuelled her long-standing interest in rehabilitation and reintegration.
Additionally, Daisy has a background in research. Alongside Emeritus Professor John Pratt, she has co-authored two papers in Sociologia & Antropologia and Archives of Criminology exploring the effects of Covid-19 on Penal Populism. More recently, Daisy collaborated with the Borrin Foundation to examine the utilitarian purposes of sentencing in New Zealand, in an effort to understand the disproportionately high prison population.
Daisy left the Centre in August 2025 to return to New Zealand.
