Anne retired in early 2025 from a longstanding career in the Probation Service, which included periods as a Probation Officer, Senior Probation Officer, and Practice Teacher Assessor.
Anne is now working on her PhD project, Probation work – the Politics of Professional Identity, under the supervision of academics from De Montfort University. The data collection for the project was undertaken whilst Anne was a Probation Service employee and will provide rich data regarding practitioner experiences, and their perceptions of current probation practice. Anne has been a member of the Probation Institute since its inception in 2015 and is now its Vice Chair. She is a member of the PI research committee, and sits on the editorial board for Probation Quarterly, the PI online journal.
