Daisy Lutyens

Daisy Lutyens is Policy and Research Officer at the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies.

Daisy Lutyens joined the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies in 2024 as a Policy and Research Officer.

Prior to her current position, Daisy worked at a national drug and alcohol service, where she supported people recently released from prison with their transition from custody into the community. This has fuelled her long-standing interest in rehabilitation and reintegration.

Additionally, Daisy has a background in research. Alongside Emeritus Professor John Pratt, she has co-authored two papers in Sociologia & Antropologia and Archives of Criminology exploring the effects of Covid-19 on Penal Populism. More recently, Daisy collaborated with the Borrin Foundation to examine the utilitarian purposes of sentencing in New Zealand, in an effort to understand the disproportionately high prison population.
