Reece Walters is Professor in Criminology and Head of the Social Policy and Criminology Department in the Faculty of Social Sciences at The Open University.
He has advised governments in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, where he has held senior academic appointments. His research focuses on crimes of the powerful, notably the ways in which corporate and government officials abuse their authority for personal or political gain. He has published on the politics and governance of criminological knowledge and his more recent work seeks to push existing criminological horizons to include notions of environmental harm and justice.
