Richard Garside provides context on policing numbers in a Vice article published today.
The article on defunding the Metropolitan Police Service also featured Adam Pugh and Dr. Adam Elliott-Cooper, who will be a speaker at our final webinar next week.
Richard commented on austerity, policing numbers and the recent political context of police funding:
...we're in this situation where people in this country believe that we don't have that many police - but we're not short on them at all. There are more police now than there were during the miner's strikes under Thatcher.
