More luxury flats on Holloway prison site?

Tuesday, 22 August 2017

A letter by Islington resident, Chris Hignett, urging local people to contribute their views about the future of the Holloway prison site by filling in our survey has appeared in the Islington Tribune.

Mr Hignett warns that the land could be sold to private developers to build unaffordable luxury flats, while Islington has desperate need for affordable housing, green space and other community resources.

The letter comes in the wake of the news earlier in August that the Ministry of Justice intends to put the former Holloway prison site up for sale this autumn.

Mr Hignett's letter also encourages Islington residents to attend the Community Plan Open Day on Saturday, 30 September, from 1pm to 4pm at St George's Church on Crayford Road in Tufnell Park, where we'll be reporting the findings of our survey and having more in depth discussions about the local community's hopes for the site.
