New podcast on joint enterprise
In It Together: The Joint Enterprise Podcast

In It Together: The Joint Enterprise Podcast launches on 10th April

In It Together goes beyond the headlines to explore how joint enterprise works, who it affects, and why justice is not being served by these vague laws.

Presented by actor and campaigner Maxine Peake (Say Nothing, Peterloo, Anne and Silk), the four-part podcast will feature powerful testimonies from those convicted under joint enterprise laws and their families as well as interviews with legal experts. The episodes cover a number of themes including where these laws come from, race, neurodivergence, and the campaign for change.

Our Head of Programmes, Helen Mills, who collaborated on the podcast, said:

Joint enterprise laws have long been controversial. This podcast was an opportunity to bring together in one place the voices and experiences of some of those who have been impacted by joint enterprise and those who have scruntinised how these laws work.

Their contributions help unravel the complexities of these laws—how they have evolved, their profound injustices, and the urgent need for reform. By amplifying the voices of those directly affected and those working for change, this series sheds essential light on a flawed legal doctrine with devastating consequences.

I hope listeners find it illuminating and a powerful call to action for a fairer justice system.
