Our expert panel discussed the crime and justice elements of the government’s programme, announced in the King’s Speech on 17 July, and the challenges they will face in implementation.

Virtually every part of the criminal justice system faces stress, strain and crisis. Will the measures announced in parliament make a difference? What’s promising, what’s worrying, and what’s don’t know?
