Season's meetings

Wednesday, 17 December 2014

The Centre's team has been busy attending a range of external meetings this month.

Here's a run down of where we've been:

  • Research and Policy Associate, Catherine Heard, attended the Probation Institute conference. You can read about the conference and download the programme here.
  • Matt Ford, our Research and Policy Assistant,  went to a Transition to Adulthood Alliance members meeting on Tuesday, 9 December. There was an interesting presentation by the Black Training and Enterprise Group about The Young Review which they carried out. After that there was a talk by the Centre for Justice Innovation 'problem solving justice'.
  • Senior Research Associate, Rebecca Roberts, attended the launch of The Young Review into the over-representation of young black and/or Muslim men in the penal system. Read more about it here.
  • Our director Richard Garside spent an afternoon in a 'causal mapping' workshop with a number of other policy experts, as part of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation anti-poverty strategy programme.
  • Richard and Tammy McGloughlin, our publications manager, went to HMP Grendon to meet with the governor, Jamie Bennett, and colleagues, to discuss the prison's therapeutic approach.
