Red Cross launches emergency food aid plan for families in the UK

For the first time since the Second World War the charity will be distributing food to families, affected by the welfare cuts, who are struggling financially. Chris Johnes, UK Poverty Director for Oxfam,  said 'We’ve actually got the government reducing the amount of income going into the pockets of a number of people and that is leading to an even greater use of food banks',  reports The Independent.
