'Put them in chains'

Wednesday, 13 November 2013

During a commons debate on the bedroom tax yesterday Tory MP for Monmouth David Davies (not to be confused with the better known Haltemprice and Howden MP David Davis) shared his thoughts on absent fathers:

'It is utterly shocking and I hope that the ministers will take note of this and get hold of some of these feckless fathers, drag them off, put them in chains if necessary, make them work and make them pay back society for the cost of bringing up the children they chose to bring into this world.'

Mr Davies has previously described gay marriage as 'barking mad', but denied he is bigotted, citing his fight in an amateur tournament with a 'gay boxer' as proof of his openmindedness.
