Children are being denied basic rights, according to report

Wednesday, 20 November 2013

The State of Children's Rights in England report has accused the Government of overlooking the rights of children in favour of welfare reforms in times of austerity. They commented that the government:

'...justify not only a serious erosion of children's economic and social rights, such as health, food and the right to play, but also fundamental changes to our justice system.

According to The Independent, hundreds of thousands more children are living in poverty than last year, and this is predicted to further rise to three million by 2015.
