A&E overcrowding may cost lives

The NHS is short of 600 consultants needed to provide a consultant-led A&E service at every hospital for at least 16 hours a day and Sir David Nicholson, outgoing Chief Executive of NHS England, blames cuts to social care for the problems experienced by A&E units, The Guardian reports.
