Tuesday, 18 June 2013

The number of deaths in care homes last year was more than 103,000 compared to 38,000 ten years ago. As a proportion of all deaths outside the home the toll equates to a rise from 13% t o 1/3. Professor Brian Jarman also found that 27% of care homes in England did not report deaths to the Care Quality Commission even though there is a legal duty to do so.
