Deaths in the 21st century

Newly published mortality data from the Office for National Statistics show that deaths from heart attacks and stroke have halved over the last 11 years, The Guardian reports.

We thought the infographic the paper knocked up to accompany the story illustrated the data in a really engaging and accessible way. Notice how few homicide deaths (classed as 'assault' in the infographic) there were compared to deaths from suicide or car accidents.
