Woolf report anniversary conference
February 2021 marks the 30th anniversary of the publication of the Woolf report into the Strangeways prison protest; the longest and most significant prison protest in British prison history.
On the 30th anniversary of Lord Woolf's report in the aftermath of the Strangeways protests, our five-day online conference will explore the history and legacy of the protests.
Our speakers will also discuss and debate the current state of our prisons
To mark this important occasion we are organising a series of online events between 22 and 26 February 2021.
Over five days, a range of expert speakers will discuss the events around the Strangeways prison protest, the official response, what has happened in prisons in the intervening years, and what the future might hold.
