Edinburgh presentation on criminal justice policy

Tuesday, 14 July 2015

In April the Centre's Director Richard Garside took our recent publication, The coalition years, out on the road to Edinburgh, presenting at an Open University Scotland seminar.

The coalition years is part of our UK Justice Policy Review programme of activities, supported by the Hadley Trust, and seeks to explain why criminal justice developments unfolded in the way they did across the separate jurisdictions of the UK between 2010 and 2015. Richard's presentation focused specifically on developments in Scotland, contrasting them with what happened in England and Wales.

You can read Richard's full presentation, as well as other contributions from Mary Munro, Lisa Whittaker and Gerry Mooney, here. You can read The coalition years full report here.

We have also just published the fourth volume of UK Justice Policy Review, which combines analysis of the main developments in policing, courts, prisons, probation and welfare with detailed data sections covering the main facts, figures and trends.
